Inspired by the works of the Bloomsbury Group, the “Omega” collection has been created exclusively for The Courtauld Shop by jewellery designer Aliyah Hussain.
The Omega workshop were set up in 1913 by artist and writer Roger Fry and joined by fellow Bloomsbury group artists Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. The workshops sold furniture, fabrics and household accessories designed and made by artists and was founded with the intention of providing graphic expression to the essence of the Bloomsbury ethos.
Using polymer clay, the pieces start out large and are then compressed and stretched to form long sticks, that contain patterns, which are then sliced. Each slice is unique as the patterns shift slightly throughout.
