In the early 19th century a reference work was published entitled Werner's Nomenclature of Colours. This attempted to establish a classification system for all colours in the natural world. Nature's Palette adds to this original publication by including illustrations of the animals, vegetables and minerals that were originally referenced alongside each colour swatch.
